Free checklist
The 10-week MVP launch plan.
The week-by-week checklist we run on every engagement, from the first interview to the first ten users. Use it to plan your own build, or to hold whoever you hire to a schedule.
Week 1
Discover
Pressure-test the idea before spending real money on it.
- Write the one-sentence thesis: who has the problem, what they do today, what changes with your product.
- Name the single claim v1 must prove. A marketplace proves both sides show up; a B2B tool proves someone changes their workflow.
- Interview five people who have the problem. Not friends. Ask what they do now and what it costs them.
- List every feature you want. Then move everything that does not prove the thesis to a v2 list, in writing.
- Decide the stack and hosting once, in a one-page document. Boring choices, made early, never revisited mid-build.
- Agree scope, price, and launch date in a single document that both sides sign.
Output
A build plan: fixed scope, fixed price, launch date.
Weeks 2 to 3
Design
Design the system, prototype the risk, validate before building.
- Map the user flows end to end, from first visit to the moment the product delivers its value.
- Identify the two riskiest flows and prototype only those, clickable, before any visual polish.
- Put the prototype in front of three of your interviewees. Watch, do not explain.
- Build the UI on a small component system so engineering reuses parts instead of inventing screens.
- Sign off on the design in a single review. Changes after sign-off are scope trades, not additions.
Output
A clickable prototype and a design system ready for engineering.
